A little blog where I explore radiator service
You're humming along on the highway, enjoying a day trip you've been looking forward to for weeks, when suddenly there it is, your check engine light. Darn! (You probably say something worse. ) Do you keep going (after all, it's not flashing, yet) or turn around? A check engine light can signal any number of issues, from loose gas caps to engine misfires, some of which could lead to serious damage and expensive repair work down the road if ignored. Your car's on board computer constantly monitors for operational irregularities and sends out a signal whenever it detects an activity that is not quite right. The computer will first try to correct the problem itself, but when it can't, it lets you know by illuminating the check engine light.
