Brake repair is not reason for despair; think of it as just one part of your regular car maintenance schedule. Brake repair is just as vital to a properly functioning vehicle as is an oil change. When you hear squealing or grinding noises emanating from one or more of your brakes, that noise means that your brakes have been performing their function well. Brake wear indicators are meant to wear down and make noise to warn the driver that brake repair is necessary. Noise is not the only indicator that brake repair may be necessary.
